holiday summary 1/?
written on Monday, February 4, 2013 @ 1:29 PM ✈
Hurray for me always being too lazy to blog (not). Don't bother reading
the rest because it's just my holiday summary for my own purposes
So alllll the way back sometime at the end of December I accompanied my parents on a trip to ikea. I haven't been there since I was kid so I was interested to see what it was like because in my memory it was one really cool place. Oh and ikea used to be really close to our house but then they moved to homebush or whatever so it was too far to bother going that's why I haven't been there since I was a kid D;
So apparently ikea is still one interesting place, there's so much to see and we somehow spent five hours there o_o But I guess it was still much cooler in my memory :( I'm pretty sure it used to have footprints on the ground to tell you where to go next but now it's just arrows :( We did buy a few small things (not furniture) and I bought one of those tealight candle lantern things that everyone seems to have. Ooh at the end I got excited because I wanted cinnamon rolls/buns but they said they didn't have any more :(
Ah here's a funny light I saw at ikea. To me, it looks like a dandelion xD
Oh and the parking at ikea is scary. It's free parking for three hours (like most places) but even if you go out before the three hours is up and get a new ticket, they still charge you so somehow they know you've been there longer than three hours even if you have a new ticket o_o Anyway it's not ikea's fault, it's the shopping centre's.
So then some time in early January I had to go to a specialist because my skin was being retarded again == Basically the skin on my fingers was just really itchy all the time (and it wasn't really normal, I can't explain this) and no matter what prescription creams I put on it, nothing would really work :(
Specialists earn sooo much money. We were scheduled for a 15 minute consultation and it cost $200. And while he was writing stuff down I saw his schedule for the day and that day he was working from 8:30 to 5:30 with an hour and a half break for lunch. As far as I could see, all of his "patients" (if that's why they're called) were all penciled in for 15 minutes which means that if they were like me, and had to pay $200 for those 15 minutes that means he earns around $6000 a day which I think is amazing o_o But I'm surprised he works until so late but maybe that's just what I think is late.
So my dad reallyyyyy likes that doctor because he didn't do the whole "here's your problem, here's the solution okay now bye" thing. Instead, he really took the time to go through what caused it, what I should do, answered all of our questions and repeat everything several times to make sure we got it all. But that meant it ended up taking 30 minutes so I wonder what happens to the rest of his schedule since then everything would be behind o_o
Turns out that the problem was just that I'm "too clean" lol. Though I can't say the same about my room. It's because people with eczema have really sensitive skin and we can't wash too much or it gets dry and all sorts of problems happen. So shorter showers and less hand washing which is hard because I'm always washing my hands when I come home and when I'm cooking D; It's funny because the doctor said to be "more dirty" and that I could even skip taking showers if I want (of course he doesn't mean everyday) because then I won't dry out my skin. It's okay, I haven't skipped any showers just yet lol. Well it was a hard two weeks obeying his orders but now my fingers are fine :D Just have to make sure it doesn't come back T_T
