That moment when you cry from the depths of your heart because it takes you 2 hours just to figure out which method you've been taught should be used for the data given to us in our stats assignment. And then you use the wrong one so you spend ages re-doing the assignment. Story of my life every time we get an assignment. Stats is THAT bloody hard. I haven't ever done one that didn't require me re-doing all or part of it (ugh). It's not like maths where it's like "here's an equation, now solve." Oh how I wish it were like that T_T And then ANSC test today was so troll, all the things I was prepared for never featured and they instead decided to test me on things which I thought were less important so I studied it, but not as hard as other stuff so I answered it with the most vague and foggy knowledge ever. White hot chocolate tastes like marshmallow. Seriously. 0 comment[s] | back to topwritten on Monday, April 28, 2014 @ 10:52 PM ✈
Ewww this week is so gross. I wanted to do some recap posts but that won't be happening until this week is over at least because ANSC3103 (structure and function) mid sem on Wednesday worth 30%. I cannot stress how much I hate this unit as well as cell bio because to me it's pointless remembering with no logic whatsoever and I just can't take that sort of thing (and so never do well) (ノಠ益ಠ)ノ彡┻━┻ Then Friday is ENVX2001 (stats) prac exam (10% or more) as well as the assessable exercise is due (another 10%?). This week is GROSS. But after ANSC is over I'll be happier because stats is more "logical" so I can deal with it. The only unit I get which ISN'T science sigh.
Since this week is so busy I have to drop all games completely sigh, can't even play them during a "break" (´-_-`)

Can I please just cry about how tomorrow is uni again and holidays are forever away? And that the gross animal structure and function midsem exam is on Wednesday and my notes are already 40 pages ughhh...
Also today was my first time driving by myself and it is 100 times more nerve wracking than the driving test o_o I feel uneasy without my dad with me lol. Just have to be careful when parking since that's where most p platers screw up and hit things compared to driving which is "easier."

That moment when after all the working all evening last night you then spent until midnight playing 3 difficult battles and then autosave failed you and now you have to re-do the LAST THREE BATTLES EXCUSE ME (ノಥ益ಥ)ノ 彡┻━┻
Damn you I'm so pissed I really don't want to re-do it because 2 of them were hard and long 1 on 1 battles and the battle in the middle was a 1 vs 6 and do you have any idea how hard that one was?? I died pitifully the first time and the second time I managed to survive with a lot of health left WHICH I CANNOT EVER DO AGAIN NOOOO WHY YOU DO THIS
I'll never be able to do this battle so well again (ಥ_ಥ)
and it looks like 3 vs 6 but you only play as Gai-sensei
so it's actually 1 vs 6 ughhh
And I forgot to take a screenshot of my battle
above but I basically defeated all 6 and was
left with even more health than what
Naruto has left here (think 2 cm of more green)

So today I finally succeeded in following a car from the RTA that was doing their test after having previously lost a car on the very first traffic light we hit the first time I tried LOL. Except this time I was a little TOO good at following because every time I tried to lag behind to give them space because dad told me to they just kept going slowly and I would eventually catch up to them? ¯\(°_°)/¯ I'm never doing that again, feel so bad for them though D: And dad says they're probably grateful it's me following them not a normal full license person since that would put pressure on them.
Buuut I feel like that person didn't really get tested on much? The route was interesting but I swear they drove for like 30 minutes or less. And seriously I feel like when I do mine I'll get bagged out for going too slow but when I was following them, I had to do 40 in 60 zones and 20 in 50 zones (little streets)!! o_o Man they were quite slow and so I had to be slow as well and I bet I must have been really pissing off whoever happened to be driving behind me lol oh well.
We followed them back to RTA but we didn't go there and park and drove off so I wonder if they managed to pass and get their P's? Hope I don't get that tester only because she'd be like "YOU!!!" and maybe recognise me from following omg. When we were trailing them dad kept joking and saying things like "The tester is saying if you can lose that L plater behind you I'll let you pass but if you don't, then they pass." LOL dad. And then there was the random time I got ahead of them so I parked on the side of the road to wait for them then I was thinking "inb4 the tester said kerb side stop but then realised I parked in their spot and now they can't" haha.
Ah did I ever mention that even when I do get my P's I'll never be able to get out of our driveway because the gate space thing is literally only got like 7cm each side of the mirrors and it legit took me 12 minutes to reverse out today because it's not a straight reverse but you have to go a slight S sort of shape to get out. Nightmare seriously. 0 comment[s] | back to topeaster break

Ahh these past two days have not been good but let's not talk about it. You know, on Wednesday I was really happy when uni finished because then I was officially on break. Though it took a lot to get there because it was the cell bio mid sem which I was grossly underprepared for. I know I say that all the time but that really had to be the most unprepared test I ever did ugh. And my number one problem was when the "short" answer (it's never short you liars it's a freaking essay > >) gave us a choice out of these two: a) write about cell organelle structure and function OR b) talk about the role of enzyme catalysis in cell metabolism and something about enzyme kinetics (sorry I forgot exact wording) and then I was in crisis mode because do you pick a) since it's easy? But then I have no confidence in writing in well so compared to my cohort I'll probably get under average or average for it. Or do you pick b) which is hard and you don't know as much on but not many people will do it so it won't be as competitive? Man I hate choice short answers because I pick one then half way through it I always regret not picking the other one as I start to realise I'm running out of things to talk about but it's too late to start again. Ugh major bummer. Then after the exam (which was first thing in the morning) we still had to do our ANSC (animal structure and function) quiz as well as the GENE quiz online. Really glad I figured out one of the harder questions! But I'm sad because they were giving out a TONNE (legit 10 trays piled all the way up) of churros at uni but my friends and I had to go do our work :'( Life of a science student. I swear Wednesday has kind of become one of my favourite days? New naruto is always good (y) Ah but you know this chapter, I can't say the new powers that the sage of six paths gave Naruto and Sasuke weren't unpredictable since I'm sure we all knew what was going to happen lol. Check out Sasuke's new left eye (scary!):
I have to say that my number one most favourite thing to do that always makes me unbelievably happy is being a hermit at home either watching videos or playing games. Sad life but who cares. Or cooking! Ahhh yes I can't wait to make stuff in this short break, even cooking myself something for lunch is fun. Not sure which I love more, eating the final product or the process of making food.
Lastly, NO REGRETS spending $30 for my game. It arrived on Tuesday, the day before my exam and I didn't even rip open the plastic til after I got home after exam on Wednesday AND IT IS SO GOOD. Game play and graphics is so good but I'm probably easy to please since I'm no hardcore gamer but I don't care.

So there are a billion thoughts running through my head but the first one right now is: WHY IS MY NOSE RUNNING NON-STOP WHY AM I SNEEZING NON-STOP WHY ARE MY EYES TEARING OH MY GOD AM I SICK???!?!!!! This CAN'T be happening, not when we've finally reached the easter break I'm so mad right now but I can't stop it running and I know it's going to keep me up all night why why why. Someone please send me help. Also it's the classic "post-exam crash" where I feel super tired even though I was really happy earlier when I got home so it seems like I'll have to save my thoughts for the next post because my brain is really scrabbly right now. Also mum says not to stay up too late (why oh why would you think I'd stay up late mother dearest? Oh right it's in my nature noooo). 0 comment[s] | back to topwritten on Monday, April 14, 2014 @ 10:08 PM ✈
I had a dream that they started selling melon pan in Australia so I no longer needed to make them if I wanted to eat them. Weird. But nothing beats 100 yen melon pan from a conbini in Japan (╥﹏╥)
Ugh I feel so down right now. Just not in the right mind space to face the 25% cell bio mid sem in two days. Of course I've been studying but this subject is just like chemistry to me, in fact it's a nightmare of a blend of organic chemistry and biology. Utterly. Disgusting. But yes I didn't do well last year in cell bio mid sem either (lol under average by one) and I expect even worse this year because the material is so dry and my mind rejects it. Like I've been sitting here all afternoon but the material is just to overwhelming. Am I really going to get through the test? x_x I think I've completely lost the me that knew how to work and survive through exams. I wish I had as much drive to study as I do to procrastinate and play games. Man I just want to bake everyday like two years ago (April 2012?) I spent everyday of the holidays making something new (not just baking though). Ah that was fun. But it's not even holidays yet and I honestly just want to spend all my time making food. Even when easter break comes I have to spend it studying for the buttload of tasks that will be thrown at us when we go back to uni ugh. A random post of mine on tumblr has ~130 notes even though they aren't from my followers? What like how do people even. Tumblr is a weird place. 0 comment[s] | back to topwe all know group work sucks
written on Saturday, April 12, 2014 @ 11:15 PM ✈
I
can never stress how much I hate group work. First off, our assignment
is incredibly retarded (as expected from VETS aka. cell bio) because
it's broken up into 4 sub questions to be divided in our group of 6.
Each question is also worth a different amount and we can only write a
max of 1000 words total?? I have the question worth the most (20/100)
and we have to look at a slide and pick a cell organelle and write about
its structure and function. Sound simple? NOPE. Our slide is of paranasal sinuses affected by primary ciliary dyskinesia and for my question, we have to do two organelles but I only have to write one as another person is doing the other one (so 20/100 each to give 40/100). We have to pick an organelle related to the disease or one you can see on the slide. She already picked cilia which is a no brainer but I got thrown in the deep end because there is legit no organelles depicted on the slide so I can't actually do anything like what?
Here's
the pic right here and I see absolutely nothing. The only other
loophole is that you can pick an organelle related to the disease so I
was going to pick microtubules as it's do-able and quite decent but
after all this time now my group says it's too risky and I have to do
the nucleus??? NO. That makes zero sense because I do not see a nucleus
in the picture so I don't see how it's more qualified to be written
about and nucleus is so overdone and boring as hell I'm already rolling
my eyes (and so will the marker, I assure you). Lastly, everyone's
probably going to do the nucleus which means it's going to be hard to
get good marks for it unless you write SUPER WELL about it in our limit
of 250 words which I CAN'T.
Ugh
but I can't go against the group's wishes because if I don't do nucleus
and we get bagged out for doing an inappropriate organelle I'll be
doomed but I have no confidence in writing about the boring nucleus.
In
other news while I was playing some of my game before sleep last night I
was so tired I actually fell asleep before finishing and the screen
never shut off and when I woke up my phone was out of battery. Oops.

Oh my god I'm honestly just sitting here going wowowowow at the suits finale because it feels like it only just came back and today is already the last episode of season 3 (which was a shock since I didn't look up when the last episode of the season would be). So once again, it was really well done and you could really feel how intense and serious it was (even more than normal) and it had its good moments too. Really loved how each character was portrayed perfectly and the end of the episode hurts right in the kokoro 心 (heart) seriously. Noooo Mike :'( Anyway go watch the episode so you know what I'm talking about! And you can then read about it here which I think sums it up nicely.
In other news the uni server is still down and I'm just sitting here like "?????" It's giving me the biggest reason to NOT do any work which is something you definitely don't want to encourage what with exams and assignments but I can't even access the important stuff so what do I do? (´-_-`)
Feeling super tired at the end of each day :/

So after spending most of the day driving and doing some work, I finished work at 7:30 and got home and had dinner which took me until about 8:30. Decided to crack down and do some uni work for like 2 hours before going to bed and guess what? Looks like the uni website had other plans for me because this is what they gave me: Why thanks for that. It's always at those moments when you really need to do work that they throw this at you. Can we all just hold on a second while I flip 1000 tables (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ Okay thanks guys. Aaaaaaaand reason two billion and one why I hate driving. Today at a traffic light I needed to turn right and the only car in oncoming traffic needed to turn right as well. Ordinarily, you can both turn right at the same time as long as you pass in front of each other right? Well that person for some reason was continuing straight towards me while I was turning so dad told me to STOP but then so did the other guy and he proceeded to honk at me. Like what the hell is your problem? I wasn't in his way but he didn't even turn even though he had his indicator on. I don't even know what happened. Dad thinks he retardedly intended to drive straight even though his indicator was on but I don't know. Ugh I hate driving so so much if only it wasn't a necessary life skill. 0 comment[s] | back to topblow over please :(

Welp, as much as I don't want to, it looks like I have to put gaming and blogging on hold :( If there's one life lesson to be learnt, it's that holidays never come cheap. What I mean by that is, before every holiday that comes there is a set of hurdles called assignments and tests that must be done first to claim the sweet reward that is a holiday :( I'm really sad that there is no such thing as a "nice night spent studying" for me, there just always has to be one interruption. Well anyway today I got trolled by uni > > Normally on wednesdays if we don't have a prac we have only two lectures so I went to uni today but the first lecture didn't run and nobody told us so we all ended up going for only one hour. Then I came home and tried to get some work done and guess what? Yep, people came over again SIGH. Why do people always have the best timing ever? And then on top of that it feels like I'm working two jobs because I got called in to work at Wentworthville again tomorrow. This is the third time and it makes me wonder, what on earth is up with the teacher that I'm always replacing? Why is he like never there and I always have to come in?? o_o Also why does everyone want a piece of me? At the same time Karen asked me to go over there tomorrow, my boss texted me to help out with year 11 extension maths next week except he said Tuesday 2 to 4 and I'm like I have lectures at uni at that time o_o He thought I was on holidays next week and I'm like no I'm in uni we don't get those holidays o_o I'm so sad, I honestly don't know if I'll be able to finish the assignments due satisfactorily or if I can even pass my tests well next week T_T And even when the easter break does come I can't take a breather because then it's work and driving. I think things will only settle down once all the crap load of tasks (assignments, tests, work and driving) blow over which is... when uni starts up again after easter OTL In other news I haven't watched simpsons in ages and tonight they played the top 6 episodes (3 hours) as voted by Australia to celebrate their 25th anniversary and I can't say I agree with those being my personal top 6 but it was still entertaining nonetheless. Oh that reminds me, I've been doing quite well in the "sleeping during train rides" department. Since we started uni this week I haven't fallen asleep much in fact this whole week so far (3 days), I didn't fall asleep once on the way to uni. Unfortunately I was so tired on the way back today though for some reason that I very nearly missed my stop and woke up just as the doors opened OTL 0 comment[s] | back to topJapan Trip Day 1: flying and then Shinjuku
written on Sunday, April 6, 2014 @ 9:57 PM ✈
Day 1 - December 3rd Okay so this post got super delayed and I feel so unmotivated to do it on blogger because it is so picture unfriendly :/
Nevertheless here we go! For those of you who have seen my facebook album then these pictures will be the same since I don't have any others ¯\(°_°)/¯ The flight was at 8am or so which meant having to leave the house at 6, and waking up at 5am. Thanks to some last minute issues, I was still well and truly not-in-bed-sleeping at 1am. So I got less than 4 hours sleep before the trip, typical of me LOL
Going through the airport didn't take long and soon we were on our way to Japan hurray! \( ^o^)/ By the way, I totally hate flying. I'm not scared, nor do I get sick, it's purely because of BOREDOM. For some reason, my head gets fuzzy (not painful) if I try to read so I can't, no computer lasts long enough so I can't watch anything so usually all I can do is listen to music. SLEEP is the best time waster but I can never sleep well on a plane. This is the most regretful point because I fall asleep easily on a bus, train or car but not plane :(
However, this was one of the best plane rides EVER, better than all those times going to China. Why? They had quite a collection of good movies (though I don't really like watching movies - too long for me), but also this was the first time I saw bejewelled on a plane LOL. I apologise in advance for these blurry photos, I don't know why I was that shaky on the plane > <
You play with the audio and volume remote :)
Their food made me SO happy! SO much stuff
and so delicious too. My favourite was the noodles
which you eat with the sauce that came in the little bottle :)
The sky was so nice that day. I got told off by dad for
leaving the window shade up and absorbing x-rays > >
First time being given ice-cream on a plane! I don't like
chocolate but since it was ice-cream who cares!
The air hostess kindly told everyone you could
see the coral from the greet barrier reef outside ^^
Not sure if it's all of that though
雲海~ (unkai) Sea of clouds.
Second meal huhu~
When we got to the airport, I think we got through quite quickly again. Getting our fingerprints taken is fun lol. Also they're all quite serious there. I will always say that the Australian airport is the most friendly, most of the staff there crack jokes and are all smiley but if you go to Japan and China this isn't the case D:
After getting out of the security part of the airport and into the main waiting area place, the first thing I saw was an ice-cream vending machine! Unfortunately I didn't get any nor did I take a picture *regret* Though I do have another picture of the same machine elsewhere. I will always remember how there was an announcement saying Julia Gillard was lost in the airport somewhere, late for her flight LOL
We then had to go buy a precious N'EX (short for Narita express) and Suica package which cost around 4000 yen from memory (~$40 aud). Unfortunately for us, all international flights to Japan pretty much end up at Narita airport which is about 66km from central Tokyo. The other airport, Haneda airport is only 14km south of Tokyo but is mainly for domestic flights. This means besides the $1000 something airfare, you'd have to pay about at least $30 to get to Tokyo as well as endure the extra ~60 minute trip it takes to get there. You can take either the N'EX or the Keisei Skyliner depending on where you will be staying.
The N'EX and Suica package is a great deal since it gives you a return ticket to the airport and the Suica is a great card which lets you load up money onto it (the deal gives you 2000 yen on it) and you just tap the card to get through stations and what's left on it shows up on the screen (unlike what our crappy opal cards will be doing, don't make me think about how sucky they will be). I just looked it up again and apparently they are no longer offering that package since the end of March this year :( I'm actually really sad about that because it means I'll have to do new travel research when I want to go again.
Even more devastating is this: The Suica card has a 500 yen deposit on it which you can get the 500 yen back when you return the card before you leave the country. However, if you have more than 500 yen left on it when you return it, they charge you a 210 yen handling fee so you get less than 500 yen back. Basically, if you have less than 500 yen on it (or zero is best) you're good and you get it all back. Anyway, I had more than 500 so I decided to keep it til I came back next time since these cards are valid for 10 years (definitely coming back within 10 years!) so I thought I'd buy some ice-creams first when I come back next time then return it LOL. But then since this package no longer runs does that mean I'm stuck with this card and no refund...? I actually don't know since these cards are used all over japan so maybe I can return it somewhere but I'm not sure if they do returns that aren't part of that package hmm...
Anyway sorry about all that musing. If you plan to travel around Japan and you're stuck, ask me how and I'll research it for you kekeke I spent ages doing mine so I'm used to it LOL. I saw this christmas tree light display while I was on the N'EX (I think it was from a hotel building?):
They also sell snacks and sandwiches on the N'EX.
There's also shelves at the end of the carriage
to leave your luggage on! With locks even, if you're
paranoid someone will steal it :)
Then came the REAL challenge. We finally had to experience the despair that is the lack of organised street signs and numbers that is Tokyo. Google maps said it was an 8 minute walk from Shinjuku station to our hotel but... never trust Google maps, not for Japan at least. It took us easily at least 40 minutes plus asking at least 3 people to get there wwww. Trust me, it's got nothing to do with being bad at directions. I honestly cannot explain it to you, you just have to experience it. But! Now I'm very familiar with that area of Shinjuku so I'm sure it won't happen again HAH! Man it was so awkward going through so many streets with our suitcases haha.
By the time we got to our hotel it was probably 9 or 10pm by then (can't remember for sure) but even more so than any other Tokyo city, Shinjuku is a place that never sleeps. It is pretty much a lot of bars, restaurants, karaokes and the like so people are still out and about even that late. I have no recollection of if dad was hungry then but I was no where NEAR hungry because of the two meals we had on the plane. However, we passed a mister donut on the way to the hotel so after check-in we went back there since I wanted to try one ^^
Actually, I was after the hello kitty donuts which I saw on the internet but somewhere in my heart I knew I wouldn't get it since these sorts of things are limited time only and it had been quite some time.
![]()
What I wanted :(
and so this became my "dinner" LOL
When I ordered it, the person asked me if I wanted to have it here and this was the first time I had to say something that wasn't asking for directions and I froze up a split second LOL. Thankfully I remembered the word which I wanted to say - 持ち帰ります mochikaerimasu, "I'd like to take it away." And after eating that, showering, reading the hotel stuff and more research I went to bed :) Though super late of course haha.
~Day 1 end~

First off Kishimoto Masashi, you did a great job with the new naruto chapter omg (as always). It really seems people liked it, from what I see on the internet lol. But talking about reincarnations and stuff? It's getting even deeper and my mind is like dsafjafdjadsfsdvc. And omg I totally knew Sasuke was left handed even though everyone says otherwise and if you try to say he it is you get totally bombarded at on the internet. BUT!! I swear this chapter just confirmed it. I called it first PEOPLE! Okay I wanted to get up a Japan trip post today but due to bothersome things my schedule was completely ruined so hopefully I can do it tomorrow. Also it's ridiculous how many times we've learned about tasmanian devil facial tumour disease (DFTD) at uni now. Each time it's the same stuff (since currently scientists still can't figure it out). Last year sem 1, bio taught us about it. Sem 2, it was the same rehash but from VETS1018. This semester it's gene2001. Am I going to have to "learn" this again next semester?? It's quite sad but when my sister asks me questions about what HSC exams were like I honestly have no recollection of either content or my feelings while doing it. I guess I must have really disliked the whole HSC period of my life and just blocked it out :/ It wasn't even too long ago but I feel like I've forgotten it all. It's also sad that more than I thought, all subjects this semester are a nightmarish combination of things we learned last year and here I thought we were just going to start off "fresh" with different stuff. I don't know. It's like English where what you learn year to year isn't really building upon previous knowledge (not for me at least). But yeah GENE2001 is some horrible combo of bio, stats and vets (doing chi squared so many times, regression and good old Hardy-Weinberg > >). VETS1038 omg I cannot believe this is meant to be "cell bio" (which I hate from last sem) but it has CHEMISTRY IN IT. WHY CAN I NEVER RUN FROM CHEMISTRY. I dropped when we were learning organic/oxidation+reduction stuff back in year 12 and that's what I had to suffer through last year plus chemistry beyond HSC level. Thought I could forget it all (and I did regardless) after last year but NOPE we get to learn all those molecules and reactions AGAIN and more in vets (ノಠ益ಠ)ノ彡┻━┻ ENVX is well, still stats lol. ANSC is gross though and I honestly think I might fail (this one has the highest fail rate) since it's memorising muscles, body parts and whatever and I still remember failing the heart in year 8 science. I just can't do memorising body parts or chemistry. 0 comment[s] | back to topwritten on @ 3:14 PM ✈
Why is it whenever I'm doing my WORK people have to come get me to DO THINGS. And then you have the nerve to say I'm just sitting here DOING NOTHING.
