dousei kareshi butterfly lip intro
written on Monday, March 31, 2014 @ 10:08 PM ✈

Hmm I made a wordpress and I might be posting there once I've found a nice template or something (setting up a new blog is always the worst). Also I somehow recently gained 20 followers on tumblr? Σ(゚дlll I mean it was just a "nothing tumblr" and I didn't give people links so I don't personally know any of my followers lol.

Okay so life is pretty uneventful right now so I feel like talking about another game~ This is one that I've been waiting for since HSC ended, it was meant to come out 29 March 2013 which was right after uni started so I never got a chance to play. What's worse, its release got pushed back twice, once to 28 June 2013 and finally released on 27 September 2013. By then I lost track of it so only played it now ┐(・へ・ )┌

This game has 3 different games in its series and errr the names make me laugh. The games in order are dousei kareshi butterfly lip, dousei kareshi butterfly gloss and dousei kareshi butterfly rouge (last one released a few days ago). I don't understand the need for the "butterfly" in the title plus a random make-up related word? Like what o_o Okay maybe the butterfly is related to black butterfly which is the company that made it.
Soooo why was I interested in this game? "Dousei" means "living together" and "kareshi" is boyfriend so it's a game about MC living together with her boyfriend but due to circumstances, it's possible for her to cheat on him :/ So you might be like "what on earth kind of game is this" but I've just never seen this concept before so I thought it would be interesting ¯\(°_°)/¯
But first, here's the intro:
 Characters:

Kanzaki Hina, the MC of the game. After the opening, the game starts with her in her 3rd of uni. She's in the theatre club because she's interested in movies. Can I just say, finally an MC that has eyes and a face! Okay most of you won't get that. Also when the character is already given a name I'm like heck yes! Because I hate coming up with names and no, putting my name in there does not make me feel like I''m the one in the game, sorry otome game companies. It's regretful but she does get a bit annoying in game sometimes ( ̄ー ̄)
Ichinose Kei, Hina's boyfriend who asks to live together after they've been dating for a year. He's in the same year, friend circle, and club as Hina. Before I played, I read some reviews and people said he was kind of immature. I was like "it can't be that bad though right?" But actually yeah I did feel it after all :( But he's quite sweet at times! Also whoever draws the chibi forms of them does a good job because they're quite cute! ^^ He's voiced by Kishio Daisuke whose voice I am familiar with from Starry Sky in Autumn and I neither love nor hate his voice so that's alright. Btw I would pick him a billion times over the other guy sorry.

Himeno Kazuhi, your potential cheat partner. He's two years Hina's senior and was the head of the theatre club but graduated and now works at some company. He's liked Hina since he met her but never worked up the courage to confess and then she started going out with Kei... When Kei and Hina have problems about all sorts of random stuff he's always there to cheer her up. What made me laugh is out of these two main reviews I found for this game, one of them preferred Kei over Himeno and calls this guy "hime-creep" because he honestly appears out of nowhere to where Hina is and I actually agree and it is a little creepy x_x The other reviewed liked Himeno better since Kei's occasional immaturity got on her nerves lol.
When Kei first meets him, he calls him "Hime-chan senpai" which is hilarious because it kind of means "princess-chan senior" since hime (the kanji in his name) means princess LOL. He's voiced by Hirakawa Daisuke who SO many people love but for some reason I really really don't like his voice :/ It's too bad he's in like everything and then my interest in the character he voices or the game he's in makes me not interested in it anymore :/ I'm familiar with his voice because he voiced a character in Starry Sky in Winter.
Takanashi Michiru, Hina's token girl best friend (there always has to be a female friend for the MC to balance it out). She's in the same year as Hina and Kei. Unfortunately I don't know if I really consider her a best friend since some of her actions/thoughts are questionable :/ Like once to Hime she says that what he's doing is "hurting Kei... err I mean Hina." Other reviewers got that feeling as well. In any case I love how she only got a knee up CG here lol.
Anyway that's it for now. I actually took down notes while I was playing so I would remember the plot LOL. Usually you can't really play these games from start to finish twice because it takes too long and you usually remember bits of plot so your mind gets a bit bored. In this game, I would pick Kei over Hime cause hime-creep forever LOL also I don't like his VA > > But both were a bit "ehhh" but next game is going to be so devastating cause from what I've seen so far both of the characters are SO NICE (ಥ_ಥ)

Oops I just took like 30 minutes to play the opening of this game when it should have probably taken 15 minutes because I was too busy laughing. It was too cute. Also I don't know why but this week has just been hard and I've been really tired everyday and today after work when it was 7:30 I honestly thought I'd fall asleep right here at the computer so I went to take a lie down but I was wide awake the whole time and a nap was never going to be possible. And so now I'm back on the comp. My body is weird.

my age
written on Friday, March 28, 2014 @ 9:51 PM ✈

子供っぽい/ kodomo-ppoi = childish. 子供 (kodomo) meaning "child" and っぽい (ppoi) meaning "like" with a negative connotation

Sooo let's have fun with this topic. You know what really sucks? When every time I go back to China, or even better, every time one of my parents' friends/relatives/ whatever come over (which is all the time) they always always ALWAYS think that my sister is the older one and when they first see me they're like "oh so this is the younger one?" Cue my eye roll as parents tell them that I'm the older one.

Man it's so annoying it happens every time even though they probably saw us even a couple of months ago. It's so stupid. Also just so you know, my sister is only like 2cm or so taller than me so it's not EXTREMELY noticeable so to look on the bright side I always just say to her "well since you're not that much taller I'll just take it as you having an older looking face than me" lol OTL

Yeah even my relatives in China get it wrong every time. And I think I mentioned this before but it's sad that the only one who got it right when they saw us was my old pre-school principal who I saw last year and could correctly identify us after all this time. I mean I haven't seen him since like the middle of primary school so that's an achievement. Mum used to always tell me stories about him like once I saw him typing on the computer and I kept saying to him "click file save!" back in pre-school which shocked him since he's like "how come this kid knows o_o"

Ah yes then there's that story. There was this one time I went with my dad last year to Dan Murphy's cause he was looking for something and I thought I might pick something up for myself so I was having a look at the shelf and this old-ish guy comes up to me and is like "surely you're not looking for something for yourself are you?" And I was confused but said I was and he replied "but you can't even drink!" And by now I'm just like what o_o and I tell him I can because I'm eighteen and he's like "oh sorry, you look like you're 14!"

Like omg. I don't even know what to think anymore. I've gotten that a few times like people who don't believe me when I tell them my age. I don't even get mad when it's strangers, I just think it's funny. Like I have no idea how old I "look" and it's too bad but I don't think I could even try and lie and pull off telling someone my age as something younger to get cheaper tickets or something similar lol.

You guys remember my dolphin/fish/shark/whale/whatever you think it is bag right? So many people over the years find it quite funny due to its novelty but I think people in my faculty/cohort in particular find it interesting since we are concerned with animals after all haha. Like last year I also brought out my panda bag and so many times people where like "where on earth do you get all these cute bags!" And they find my bunny pencil case and weird phone cases interesting as well haha.

In contrast, my parents tell me off for being childish and that it's embarrassing for me to have stuff like that OTL. In fact, every week I hear them telling me to get a nice handbag for outings or books or something but I have no interest whatsoever. In fact, Monday this week when I went to hand that report in with a friend I decided to ask a question which I'd been interested in for quite some time. I asked "doesn't it hurt your shoulder when you're carrying your handbag as a school bag, I mean those books must be heavy right?"

And she admitted that it hurts like hell and leaves a red "dent" mark easily and when I asked if she ever switches shoulders to even it out she said nope. I don't really get how like at least 80% of female students at uni carry their stuff in handbags, I just couldn't suffer through that pain. I'd take any backpack over that sorry. And so I asked why she doesn't just use a backpack style bag and she said it's because she can't find one that she really likes. Then she turns to me and is like "I mean it has to be nice or one that has its own thing going on. Like your bags! Like yours right now has cat ears, you can pull off the kawaii but I can't."

By now I was laughing a little to myself because my bag is really just a plain black but according to her, the cat ears are its "thing" but I also laughed because that was pretty much my first time hearing anyone say kawaii. And me, pulling it off? Hahahaha sorry but thanks to my parents sometimes I just wonder if I'm childish.

coffee and rain
written on Monday, March 24, 2014 @ 9:45 PM ✈

薄らとんかち/usuratonkachi = stupid, slow-witted person. This is the name that Sasuke always calls Naruto by LOL

Arrived on the other side of uni bright and early at 9:20 to hand in my report which was due at 10am. Since 9:20 is such an awkward time to be at uni (as in not in a lecture room), it was pretty much empty all over campus. Since I didn't have anything to do until my lecture at 10, I went with my friend who also just handed in her report to grab a coffee and oh my god, I haven't gone out and bought a coffee since the year began but I'VE FORGOTTEN HOW BAD COFFEE TASTES.

It honestly took all I had to finish that cup. Honestly, coffee does nothing for me. It doesn't taste good nor does it keep me awake. Why did I drink it sometimes last year again? In any case yeah after drinking it all, I just wanted some water lol. I'd prefer tea over coffee any day but I can't justify going out to buy tea. My relationship with coffee is probably the same as my relationship with soy milk.

Since I couldn't have milk, I had to drink soy milk pretty much all my life until like halfway through high school (I still don't drink milk). I really REALLY dislike the taste of soy milk but since it's meant to be good for you, ever few months or so I buy one of those litre cartons and try it again in the hopes that "I'll get used to it and come to like it" but every time NOPE. Yeah I'm never going to learn. I'm always hoping but so far no good. So my story with coffee is exactly the same.

Man someone make sure I never buy coffee again it's so ick just no. Also I don't get it. When it's warm, I wear like a skirt or something to uni and everyone else is like in jeans but then today I swear it was cold so wore stockings and stuff but everyone was in shirt and shorts?? And then in the afternoon it rained LOL. I don't know why but every time my train goes passed parra on the way back that's when all the grey clouds and rain start to come in. Boy was it heavy today.

Yeah for some reason yesterday I couldn't fall asleep until about 1am even though I didn't have coffee or anything (only had one cup of tea in the morning). Ended up only getting 6 hours of sleep and when I woke up I felt as alive as usual. Which is weird since when I get 7 hours I'm SUPER tired but if I get 6 or 8 I'm okay. Note to self: never have 7 hours of sleep. It just doesn't work for me.

ran the race of a lifetime
written on Sunday, March 23, 2014 @ 10:22 PM ✈

Honestly ready to hibernate for the rest of the year, no more work EVER THANKS. Officially finished the damn 40 page report at 10 pm. Spent the morning procrastinating on it, to be honest everyone in our cohort is so over it now. Too bad we'll have to do another one after the next farm placement ugh.

When I told mum I had a 40 page report due tomorrow she was like "so how many pages have you got left?" LOL she probably thinks I left at least half of it to do today. Well nope! Although everyone started in like February I only started when uni started up again since I wanted to enjoy the holidays and I paced it out over 3 weeks. In fact today all I had to do was delete the extra text that comes with the report that gives the specific questions (but we need to delete them when submitting for the sake of flow), do two graphs and do my reference list.

I hate reference lists, they honestly take me bloody two hours ugh. Oh wells going to hand it in tomorrow and I can't say I'm satisfied with it but I'm glad it's done. I just hope for a little better than a pass? It does count for next year's mark after all. I don't care what homework we get tomorrow I'm going to rest and game kthxbai.

Oh btw the stapler wouldn't go through the 40 pages and we can't use plastic sleeves so my report better not fall apart or else. I put in 5 staples but I don't know if it'll hold.

Japan trip thoughts and a semi-guide
written on @ 11:53 PM ✈

First off, my eyes are pretty pissed off at me cause I've been sitting here since about 8 pm doing my 1000 words without a break and just finished it about half an hour ago. Compared to the days of english essay writing I'm glad I did it relatively quickly?

Also I have to say that the rest of my uni life this semester is officially ruined and I'm probably going to get bad grades OTL Why? I just discovered that the this series of games I have always wanted to play but couldn't because I didn't own a play station of any kind is actually playable by PC OMG. Which series? Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm! sdflkjsadlkfjdsalkf. I don't care if PC game play sucks compared to a PS because I don't OWN one so no choice there. And only downside is that I can't stand the stupid english dubbers of the game (I don't think we can buy it in Japanese or if there is such a thing) so I'll probably just have to mute. Even though most of the game is fighting or telling the story as seen in the anime I'm sure it'll be good. Totally going to fork out $50 to $60 for it when I have the time because I haven't bought an actual "game game" in ages so I'll spoil myself.

Another thing that sucks is I just discovered that the game I wanted to play that I was talking about yesterday is on YOUTUBE. The great thing about visual novels is that it's just a "visual story" so you can easily "play" it by watching a video of it since no actual gaming takes place. I don't know what I'm saying anymore but omg totally going to waste my life away now. Too bad we're still in the middle of uni ugh.

Okay! So this post is dedicated to any observations/ thoughts/ whatever that I had about my Japan trip. Only problem is I never write them down when I think of them so I've probably forgotten a lot about it. Anyway as I do these posts over the next few weeks let me know any thoughts you have in the comments section below or in the cbox! :D

First of all I have to say that I absolutely FELL IN LOVE with Japan and even though I knew I would like it before I even went there, I didn't know I would love it THIS MUCH!! Sorry but I can't understand everyone's infatuation with USA and such because to me, their culture would probably be similar enough to ours so that doesn't excite me in the least. Plus it's still english speaking there so maybe I don't find it challenging enough LOL and then China is too challenging and everyone's too familiar > > So like I once said, Japan was a change since it was my first time going somewhere as an actual "tourist" and not for relatives visiting!

Okay let's go dot point style heh heh. First up is observations:
  • First off, the plane food was SO nice, much better than whatever we get when going to china. They also gave us 2 meals so by the time we got there at night even though it was around 7pm or something there was no way I could eat because I was so damn full. They even gave us ice-cream on the plane and I cried tears of happiness (not really but you get it). I LOVE MY ICE-CREAM OKAY.
  • Yes, there are vending machines everywhere. First one I found was at the airport and it was - you guessed it - an ice-cream vending machine! Although I say there are a lot of vending machines, you'd probably only see about like 30 or so a day max or something they're not literally everywhere.
  • The internet lied and told me you might want to bring some tissue/toilet paper in case you go to one where there isn't any ever because during my whole trip this never happened. One of the number 1 things that makes me cry when we go to china is the gross ass toilets and the lack of paper. This never happened in japan. Even the crappiest toilet was better than china's by far. Most toilets are so clean and if they have to have the asian squat toilet, they usually have a western one as well. So nice (※థэథ)∵.*.∵.)
  • Japanese people have really good customer service. No seriously. More on this in later posts!
  • Japanese people love their phones. Look around you on the train and 90% of them will probably be looking at their phones. What's great is that there is no Apple OR Samsung rubbish going on in Japan, most people own a docomo from what I've seen.
  • Contrary to what people say, I don't think you have to be super conscious of fashion when you go to Japan. Of course there are people who are stylish, but to me most people dress in a way that's comfortable and practical (this is me looking at all ages).
  • CONVENIENCE. STORES. ARE. THE. BEST. Damn, I cry everyday still because ours suck and I would give anything to be able to go back to the conbinis :(
  • I forgot where I read this, but somewhere it said that coffee is generally expensive in Japan. It tends to cost about 500 or even 600 yen for a cup (~$5 to $6) though I didn't personally see this. However, if you're after coffee I definitely recommend getting a set, preferably a morning set (usually 8 to 11am or something) which is a special deal where for about 400 to 600 yen you can get coffee and some sort of pastry, or even a boiled egg LOL. The sets are usually worth it :)
  • So the major coffee chains in Japan are Tully's, Doutor coffee,  Excelsior Cafe, and to a lesser extent, Starbucks and Caffe Veloce. Major conbini (convenience stores) chains would be FamilyMart, 7-11, Lawson's.  I always laugh at this but on a 100 metre stretch of street I'm not kidding when I say you could probably find at least 4 coffee chains and 4 conbini stores on it. It's seriously funny as ^^ Okay I just googled and apparently 7-11 dominates with 12467 stores in Japan, Lawson has 9562 and FamilyMart 7604. Did not know.
  • I have to say police boxes were not as common as people make it out to be. I think I only found about 5 the whole time? Police boxes are places where policemen are stationed for the soul purpose of looking up places on a map and helping to direct people to where they want to go. This is because Tokyo has a confusing layout system. More on this later.
  • Oh yes I have to say this. Japan is NOT expensive. This pisses me off so much when people get it wrong. It's only expensive depending on where you CHOOSE to go. It's like Australia, we have cheap places, moderate and expensive places. It's only as expensive as you want it to be. Generally prices in Japan are pretty much the same as they are here.
  • Public drunkenness is acceptable. Not a big deal because I don't stay out late or hang around those places but I don't think it gets too bad like it does here. Basically when I say people get drunk I'm talking businessmen who go out late at night with co-workers or their boss mainly. I always wonder how they can stay out late drinking when they have work early the next morning?
  • Japan is all about convenience. Their trains are a dream, even when they are late it seemingly has no effect on anybody because every time I get on a platform I never check any timetables since a train always arrives within 5 minutes. Awesome. Also did I mention Japan has a suitcase/luggage forwarding service where for about 1000 yen ($11) you can have it delivered same day or overnight to pretty much any city within Japan? AWESOME.
  • The fact  that wearing face masks is a thing and is acceptable is just damn awesome and I wish I could do that here without being stared at weirdly. Could totally prevent being sick with this.
Okay so yeah I did forget a lot of things I originally wanted to say :( So with all these positives you're probably thinking "oh god shut up already" so I'll balance it out with a few things that weren't so great. No these things didn't get me down, nor do I hate them, I just mean I didn't *love* these aspects lol.

  • This actually proved entertaining but nonetheless I should warn you - you will get trolled hard by Tokyo's really weird layout. There are no street numbers for a start so good luck.
  • You better have stamina! Because the trains are built for standing and so there's only two rows of seats that go across the length of the train on either side so that there is maximum space for people to stand in the middle of the train. It's not like our trains which have lots of seats. Again, it wasn't too bad but I mean it's different.
  • Okay this is sad but just like China, smoking is a "thing" over here. I don't mean everyone does it but it's not like Australia where it's normal for it to be no smoking in buildings, restaurants, etc. Smoking is acceptable in a lot of restaurants, fast food places, etc so I warn you now that your meal may get ruined by that :( There are non-smoking seats though, you just need to know where to look.
  • In Japan, it's impolite to talk on the train. Not a big deal but if you ever go with friends keep this in mind so that you don't disturb the other passengers? It's usually dead silent on the trains, quite nice actually!
  • Also it's impolite to walk and eat at the same time. Doesn't sound too bad but sometimes when I buy food and there's somewhere I need to be this can really suck.
  • It's also bad manners to blow your nose in public and this was REALLY troublesome for me because my nose is ALWAYS runny and it didn't help that I was over there in winter. I don't "blow" my nose but I usually just need to wipe it but then I get all conscious that bringing out a tissue will make people think I need to blow it and then I might get disapproving stares :(
Anyway guys, any thoughts? :D

必ず/kanarazu = certainly, without fail

First off let me say that if I'm not completely bummed out after work tomorrow I'll try my best to write up my "japan trip intro" post!  必ず! Please anticipate it~

Eww 40 page report is due on monday and I've still got at least 1000 words to write and some fixing up to do before I'm satisfied. Cranked out 800 words tonight but even when I hand this in on monday I don't think my report is going to be anywhere near satisfactory and I might just scrape a pass on it which is scary since this counts towards our third year mark :/ Today was so not a good time to find this PC game I really wanted to play since early last year but thankfully it's taking a buttload of time just to download 1/5 of it so it doesn't seem like I can play it any time soon even if I wanted to.

When I first passed the JLPT someone asked me "so does that mean you're fluent in Japanese now?" and my honest reaction was ( ̄ ̄;) and some internal crying. Like the website says, passing N3 means "the ability to understand Japanese used in everyday situations to a certain degree." So the short answer is I am most definitely no where near close to being fluent.

But you know I've been thinking this ever since I was doing some translation work early last year on the side but I find translating into English so hard! As in I can read the Japanese no problem and understand it but trying to find the English equivalent with the same meaning and feeling is seriously hard for me. And then it occurred to me that I actually think in Japanese when I read Japanese? Like there's no more "oh okay so x in japanese means y in english yes yes so the sentence means blah blah" but I think it's been like that for a while.

I guess there's no more need for me to translate into english in my head so I can understand it? I'm sure that's the same with everyone else with their mother language like chinese for example. I mean there's so many chinese words that I just "get" and have a hard time coming up with the english translation for. They say that when you can understand a language just the way it is without the need for constant translation to english on paper or in your head it means you really "get" it. Am I really like that with Japanese though?

Anyway today's song is from Naruto Shippuden Opening 12, "Moshimo" (If) by Daisuke which I quite liked because I think his voice is unique? Favourite line which always gets stuck in my head would have to be:

悲しみに明け暮れながらも今 あなたなき世界でぼくは生きるよ

kanashimi ni akekurenagara mo ima anata naki sekai de boku wa ikiru yo
Although I'm suffering from sadness now, in this world without you I will continue to live on

As always, translation is in the video!

Other than what I wrote above I also liked:

もしも夢ならば 取り戻せないのなら
この気持ちはどうして伝えればいいの?
いまだに追いかけているあの日の残像を

moshimo yume naraba torimodosenai no nara
kono kimochi wa doushite tsutaereba ii no?
imada ni oikakete iru ano hi no zanzou wo
If it was a dream and I can't take it back
How should I convey these feelings?
I'm still chasing after that day's afterimage

Okay I broke up the post because it was getting too long sorry.

I laughed because his symbol was the Queen of diamonds and I'm like "queen, really?" This is Kisaki Outa though in the english version they just write his name as "Ota." Hmm it occurs to me that all the characters are called by their first name except Baba. His profile says "wicked do-S (sadistic) artist", 24 years and 175 cm. What but in game he looks short-ish o_o Anyway side bit says "petto wa goshujin-sama kara hanarecha dame da yo" meaning "pets are not allowed to be separated from their master."

Unfortunately his route isn't out yet but in the other routes he likes to joke around but you can tell he has a darker side. He also likes to make comments relating to pets like "you should put her on a leash" which I guess shows you what he'd be like in his route since from the JP version of the game, it appears he'll make the MC be his "pet" since he has a thing for that sort of thing (ಠ_ಠ) Well we'll see when it comes out, guess it'll be interesting! Oh yes he's supposed to be a famous artist and he hangs out with the other guys cause he finds the auctions interesting but I'm not quite sure how he met everyone (probably discussed in his route when it comes out).

Oops I was wrong with my comment saying Baba's the only one who gets called by his last name. This guy is Kishi Mamoru, but everyone calls him by his last name "Kishi." If you recall my surprised comment on how Baba was the oldest when he didn't look it, it's because I thought this guy was the oldest. Somehow I'm never interested in the oldest characters and even though he's not, for some reason I'm the least interested in this guy's route.

His profile says he's a "good-for-nothing police" (LOL my dictionary also says good-for-nothing can translate as bum), 30 years old, 178 cm. Side says "gaki no omamori nante, joudan janee" which I take as meaning "protecting a brat/kid, don't joke about it."

His route is also not out but from the other routes, he really is a "good-for-nothing" police because lol in the prologue when MC is sold she thinks about how if she could call the police they would save her then this guy shows up with the other guys and he's a detective and knows about the auctions but doesn't care OTL In everyone else's route he always seems to come save the other guys if mafia are after them or if police are about to catch them or something and that's about all he does. I don't really get how he works with the police since even though he knows about the auction he doesn't do anything about it and also helps out the other guys. Perhaps he gives me them inside info or something I'm not sure.

Anyways that's probably it for this game! My parting thought is that even though I was psyched for this game to come out because of its unusual darker theme, the routes were good but probably not as good as some of their other games. Doesn't mean I won't play the sequels and stuff though!

Kissed by the Baddest Bidder quick story summary
written on Thursday, March 20, 2014 @ 11:00 PM ✈

Oops I forgot to finish my post on this:

■ゲーム紹介 「スイートルームで悪戯なキス」日本初のカジノホテルで働く平凡な毎日を送っていたアナタ。ある日、その地下で行われていた秘密の闇オークションを目撃したせいで、“商品”として出品されてしまう。「お前は俺が買った」落札したのは、5人のオークション主催者。その日から、最上階のスイートルームで彼らとの刺激的な生活が始まった。

Going to make it a quick post because there's little interest? OTL By the way it's kind of sad but the blogs I read aren't being updated much, is everyone really busy with uni? :( Also ceebs translating the bit underneath that picture. And I really hate how the english title's acronym becomes "kbtbb" - it just looks really weird? Probably because there are too many b's in there.

Okay so first I'll say I played the routes quite some time ago and as usual I kind of forget minor details (just like if you ask me about books or movies) so this is going to be quite a brief overall summary. Also I can't find the English character summaries on the site? So I'll just post the japanese ones (btw I'll say names in last name, first name order):

The character whose route came out first. I also think of him as the "main" character for this game (even though the main character is whichever person's route you choose) since he was the main person featured in the promo. Profile says Ichinomiya Eisuke, who is the cold ore-sama. 29 years old, 180 cm. Text on the right hand side says "ore no onna ni suru. Omae ni kyohiken wa nai." Meaning "become my girlfriend, you have no right of veto (you have no say against it)."

Soooo I was kind of looking forward to his route since he was the one in the promo and the reaction all over tumblr is you either like him or you really hate him. Remember how I said the hotel where MC works is owned by the Ichinomiya group? Well this guy is the owner and "boss" of the hotel so he's a multimillionaire and is really snobby and all that. If you choose to be bought by him, he gives you a pager and when it buzzes, the MC has to be at the penthouse (51st floor of the hotel) where all other characters hang within 5 minutes :/

Yeah he's demanding and you feel bad for MC for a bit because she always has to leave abruptly when with friends, eating lunch, etc to meet this 5 minute requirement. Since he keeps her on such a short leash the people who were displeased with his route is because they don't get how MC can come to like him under these circumstances. I still find his route interesting though.

For his route, he obviously keeps MC under his "watch" (not literally though) so that she doesn't tell anyone about the illegal auctions which he uses as a means to find information to find his long lost sister (don't ask, I know it sounds weird). Also since he paid 20 million for her it's not like she's just going to walk free. He eventually finds a use for her which is that she has to act as his girlfriend so that some Italian mafia boss' daughter who's obsessed with him will leave him alone. Yep.

Next is Oh Soryu which everybody went crazy for on tumblr and I was like "huh why?" Back when I started playing, his route wasn't out yet (only Eisuke's was) so everyone was eagerly waiting for this guy's which came out after Eisuke's. Profile says "cool mafia", 28 years, 183cm. Bit on the side says "ore ga kowakunai nante, hen na onna." Translates to "you're not scared of me? You're a weird woman."

So his name is really weird because it's not actually Japanese. His name is just a Japanese reading of the chinese which means "dragon king" since he's the boss of this Hong Kong mafia group called "ice dragons" (sorry but I was like ehhh the name could be better). Even the last name Oh seems weird since normal romanisation would have it as "Ou" but I guess that would confuse people on how to pronounce it if they didn't know Japanese.

Anyway his route is actually quite good and I see why everyone was anticipating it! Since he's in the mafia, he's always pulling out his gun on his friends when they piss him off which are all these guys I'm introducing to you now. Though he doesn't actually hurt them and he tells MC not to run away and tell people about the auction or he'll "deal with her" and he's talking about using his gun. Even though he says that, he later says he'd never pull a gun on a girl.

So he starts off being really scary but MC can tell he's really kind at heart and even though he's in the mafia he never gets innocent people involved, and only goes after the bad guys. I guess it's like a twisted take on robin hood? He tells MC she needs to pay off the 20 million debt she owns him (from when she was bought from the auction) either in money or in services.

In the end, Mei Ling, the daughter of a different mafia group from Hong Kong comes out to Japan because her father is making her look for a husband and Soryu is tasked with looking after her. Unfortunately she's being targeted and so MC is forced to act as her double since they look alike and basically the situation gets dangerous but no matter what, Soryu protects her until the end and that's a quick summary of his story.

Umm how is this guy 35?? Normally I never have any interest in the oldest guys of each game and I can just tell who that is without ever seeing their age but I didn't know this guy was the oldest?? I'm sorry but I laugh inwardly every time I see his name since he's almost always called by his last name "Baba" by everyone which makes me think of this old scary granny from spirited away since her name is Yubaba which is quite similar:

Anyway profile says "woman loving thief", 35 years old, 177 cm. Right hand side says "ore mitai na otoko, suki ni naranai hou ga ii" which means "you shouldn't like someone like me." Typical in every one of voltage's game, there has to be some guy who's popular with the ladies or fond of playing around with them and that would be Baba for this game. REALLY similar to the game Love Letter from Thief X, he steals artworks from bad guys who stole them or got them through dirty means and returns them to where they belong or should go instead.

Baba's route is the third one to come out and he's generally always cracking jokes/hitting on MC so she can't take him seriously since he's like that with everyone and that leads to MC always thinking "what's the real Baba like?" Actually I swear the MC does the whole "so what is the real -insert name of guy's route you're playing- like?" every route but it's probably because a key sentence in the promo video was "I want to get to know the real you" or something.

Anyway his route was better than I expected! Honestly didn't think I'd like it as much as I did since usually I really dislike the flirty characters. Also this is said no matter whose route you play but it turns out Eisuke first started holding the auctions because Baba asked him to as a means of getting rid of the stolen art. In his route, MC is told she will be set free as long as she accompanies and helps him out during his theft missions which is hard for her since she sees it as doing something wrong but she has no choice since he bought her. The guys force her to be an accomplice to these crimes as a means of making sure she won't tell anybody about the auctions. Anyway unfortunately when she's almost about to finish one of the missions she gets caught and I'll let you guess who comes to save her...
