recent update :
we all know group work sucks
written on Saturday, April 12, 2014 @ 11:15 PM ✈

I can never stress how much I hate group work. First off, our assignment is incredibly retarded (as expected from VETS aka. cell bio) because it's broken up into 4 sub questions to be divided in our group of 6. Each question is also worth a different amount and we can only write a max of 1000 words total?? I have the question worth the most (20/100) and we have to look at a slide and pick a cell organelle and write about its structure and function.

Sound simple? NOPE. Our slide is of paranasal sinuses affected by primary ciliary dyskinesia and for my question, we have to do two organelles but I only have to write one as another person is doing the other one (so 20/100 each to give 40/100). We have to pick an organelle related to the disease or one you can see on the slide. She already picked cilia which is a no brainer but I got thrown in the deep end because there is legit no organelles depicted on the slide so I can't actually do anything like what?

Here's the pic right here and I see absolutely nothing. The only other loophole is that you can pick an organelle related to the disease so I was going to pick microtubules as it's do-able and quite decent but after all this time now my group says it's too risky and I have to do the nucleus??? NO. That makes zero sense because I do not see a nucleus in the picture so I don't see how it's more qualified to be written about and nucleus is so overdone and boring as hell I'm already rolling my eyes (and so will the marker, I assure you). Lastly, everyone's probably going to do the nucleus which means it's going to be hard to get good marks for it unless you write SUPER WELL about it in our limit of 250 words which I CAN'T.

Ugh but I can't go against the group's wishes because if I don't do nucleus and we get bagged out for doing an inappropriate organelle I'll be doomed but I have no confidence in writing about the boring nucleus.

In other news while I was playing some of my game before sleep last night I was so tired I actually fell asleep before finishing and the screen never shut off and when I woke up my phone was out of battery. Oops.

Finally got my $1000 from uni in my account!
