This game comes from the makers of mfw and it actually comes pretty close to being my favourite Voltage game (the company that made these games) though I think in my heart mfw will always be my utmost favourite since it was the first one of their games I played plus I just love the hilarious gang so much.

First off, the english title is actually pretty much the same as the Japanese one for once. It's called 怪盗X恋の予告状 (kaitō x koi no yokokujō) in Japanese which translates as "a love notice/letter from a mysterious thief x" or something like that...

So I've actually played all the routes in this one but I'll only be making a quick summary of everyone's route this time. Hopefully a much shorter one than the one I did for mfw since that was very time consuming. I'm pretty sure I'll be able to make it much shorter this time since I actually can't remember all the minor details of everyone's routes orz Poor memory lol. Unless I play it again but I probably don't have that much time. In any case, this game has a lot of funny parts so rather than summaries let's put up more retarded stuff lol.

So first up, some plain old boring text because background story time (prologue) sorry. It starts with the MC having a dream about her great-grandfather who died when she was five. He doesn't say much but calls out to her and she's like "Who's that? Their voice sounds familiar... is it gramps?" Anyway she then wakes up and decides to put on this ring her great-grandfather once gave her. She then goes off to work and in this game the MC works as a curator in an art museum.

After her shift she stays behind to look at a new exhibit (a tiara or something) and suddenly the security alarm goes off and she runs into two thieves who are stealing a painting.

So here you meet the first two of the main characters, Riki (on the left) and Kenshi (right). Unfortunately while MC chases them she runs smack bang into a statue and it starts to topple over and is about to fall on her but luckily Riki holds it up. Kenshi ruffles her hair and tells her to be careful and she retorts that if they're that nice to help her out and care why don't they just return the painting? But they laugh it off and run away xD Oh and just so you know the MC doesn't know their names... it's just written onscreen for the player I guess.

So after the run in with the thieves, she meets up with her friend Ranko (oh my god the MC has a female friend in this game... though she's kind of annoying ==) who's a journalist and she says "aww man if only you saw their faces I would have had the scoop of the century!" But unfortunately she didn't see their faces since it was so dark.

The MC and her friend Ranko are at a bar and they're talking about the thieves that broke into the museum that MC works at. The thieves are a group called "the black foxes" and they're known as noble thieves amongst the town people(?) because they steal works of art and return it to their rightful owners. However the MC doesn't agree with this and says that regardless, stealing is a crime and they're criminals and not "noble thieves."

^ And then MC hears this. Meet our third character, Takuto. One thing you should know though, he loves his pork noodles and he's pretty pissed you got the last bowl. No matter what you choose to do (give him yours or do nothing) he says all this bad stuff to you xD

So his friend Hiro comes over to apologise for Takuto's harsh words:

Though Takuto isn't the least bit sorry xD

They then join you and Ranko at your table and Hiro says "Hey I heard you guys were just talking about the Black Foxes, that group of noble thieves?" MC disagrees with him and says that they're just criminals and then Takuto's foul mouth strikes again xD

Oh goodness MC why are alarm bells not ringing in your head? But once again maybe it's just one of those things you know because you're playing the game but if this happened in real life you might not pick up on it :/ In any case MC goes home, checks her mailbox and sees a letter addressed from the Black Foxes that says they're coming to get her. She blows it off and she's like "is this what people do as pranks now."

Sigh MC T_T Anyway she's about to get into bed and guess who comes to get her? They cover her mouth and tell her that if she's obedient, they won't hurt her. Too bad MC has other plans.

Just a heads up, Riki has a pretty smart mouth too and loves to team up with Takuto in dissing you. They then basically kidnap you and take you back to their "hideout" which ironically turns out to be the bar that you and Ranko were in earlier that night... There, you meet the guy with the smart mouth from before xD

He's still holding the grudge against you for stealing his pork noodles xD Seriously, don't get in the way of Takuto and his pork noodles. Anyway here's the same scene as above but in the Japanese version. Personally I find the Japanese more funny only because it has a certain "feel" to it that gets lost in the translation even though what they say is basically the same. I don't know to put it, it's more like the way it's said?

First picture: 「A, anata wa sakki no shitsure na!」 (Hey you're the rude one from before!)

Second picture: 「...osse-yo, jājāmen onna」 (I would have translated this as "you're late, pork noodle girl" since "osse-yo" sounds like "you're late" to me but they translated it as "shut up"?)

You also meet the boss of the Black Foxes who MC thinks looks really lazy xD Doesn't that remind you of her impression of Kuni?

He's the fifth main character. There's one more but he actually doesn't show up in the prologue so I don't have a picture o_o I'll introduce him later. So yup, they kidnapped you because back at the museum, when the Black Foxes were stealing stuff Riki saw the ring on your finger and back at the bar Hiro saw it too (though probably because Riki told him to check it out). The ring is something your great grandfather passed down to you but the thing is, he was a really famous painter and inventor.

So the Black Foxes are trying to recover his works because some of them fell into the wrong hands and they're also after his "greatest invention" and all they know about it is that they need your fingerprints which is why they kidnapped you. Though Takuto points out that since you're being such a pain in the ass about being kidnapped by criminals (your words not his, remember they like the words noble thieves) they should just let you go and cut off your finger instead lol.

Luckily boss doesn't listen to his suggestion and instead says you will be joining the Black Foxes (cause they need your fingerprints sometime in the future when they find the invention) and you have to pick someone to "babysit" you (that's what it actually says) until you're needed. So yup they're basically holding you hostage.

And that's it for the intro! Whew that was long T_T Just a few end notes though, once again I like this MC for the most part since even though she's in a pretty dire situation (and if this happened in real life I'm sure we'd all freak out) she takes it pretty well and doesn't complain that much. Also, MC refers to her great grandfather as "gramps" so get used to me referring to him as that. Everyone else though (like literally everyone) calls him the "Japanese Leonardo de Vinci" in the game or very rarely "mister -insert your last name here-" since he is your relative and yeah, just depends what you put as your name at the start.
