another day
written on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 @ 11:10 PM ✈
My nose is still giving me grief and I always wake up with a super sore throat these days, and it just fades during the day. Chem is great because I sit around not doing much while everyone else is taking notes because I'm taking the fundamentals course which is for those that "failed" HSC chem or never did chem. I dropped so I was like -shrug- might as well.
Everyone else I know is doing the other one and apparently doing HSC chem does not help you get it and they're learning quantum something or rather (sorry forgot already) and a lot of people have complained that they don't get it. I'm glad I'm not doing that because if I couldn't even survive HSC chem no way would I survive that. Though it's much easier to get a distinction average in that one than in fundamentals which doesn't "weigh" much or whatever. They need to make a level which is between mine and the other one cause mine's a bit easy and the other one is too hard @_@
Also today I sat for 2 minutes with a mind blank during the lecture because I was doing the worksheet and I forgot how to do the chem equations orz It's been too long. Thank god I remembered after a bit. Everyone is the opposite of me, they love bio and I don't (sorry it's too boring) and they hate chem and stats. Chem is okay because the lecturer is entertaining and stats... well I hate stats but since I miss maths so much I'm willing to compromise when it comes to my relationship with stats :)
Stats isn't tooooo bad and I find it easier than sciences since it's logic and numbers rather than remembering info. Like I said, I miss maths so in stats I'm like yayyy equations and formulas! Not as cool as the things we used to learn in maths but what can I do :( Most of the stuff is pretty okay except every now and then when it's basic stuff and I'm like "wowww I don't remember this because we learnt it in year 10 and that was so long ago." Imagine if we had stats in HSC maths o_o
Break time and I bumped into Carol and Cissy and we hung out at the food court where Michael and Danashi joined us. According to them, riding a scooter to/in uni is social suicide o_o I think that's kind of harsh, I still think scooters are alright. They said that if you want to ride something, it has to be a skateboard and not a scooter. It's funny because two days ago my parents asked if I wanted a scooter for uni and it would be convenient for when I have to get to that stupid prac that isn't on campus so I did consider it (though not seriously). I don't really see how a scooter is social suicide, to me they're on the same level as skateboards.
So then maybe I should get a skateboard. Though I can't ever imagine actually using one cause I'm so unco-ordinated and have no sense of balance lol. Roller blades would be better since I can actually use them! But they're annoying to carry. Anyway they had a one hour break and left whereas I had a two hour break so I met up with some other friends and we had an interesting session of "would you rather" lol.
Before the last tutorial of the day, we stopped for some snow cones! Too many flavours to choose from. Saw JM and Steven ahead of us in the line and they let me try some of their lime flavoured one how nice :D Lime always tastes good but I decided to go for something different and got green apple. Lol D. thought I didn't actually know them and just randomly tasted a stranger's snow cone xD
So many flavours! So many unhealthy syrups xD Read the labels if you can be bothered. And ignore the random girl who I don't know that's in the shot xD
Fail shot because it was so bright outside I couldn't even see my phone screen to see if the snow cones were in the shot but it came out alright. Lime on the left, green apple on right but they look the same xD
The tutorial was alright. I thought we had to do the sheet beforehand but the sheet made no sense to me since we hadn't learnt what was on it yet but then today we learned one thing and then wow what do you know, the whole sheet makes sense. Amazing.
A rather broken day tomorrow, 4pm finish but I'm going to stop off at strathfield and get 2.50 noggi \( ^o^)/ Going to be my first noggi since they never had good enough flavours that made me want to buy it.
Lastly, on Monday I sat backwards on the train, opposite this lady who was drinking from a solo (SOLO!) can. She was trying to eat her lunch at the same time but it was difficult since she only had one hand free (other one was holding the can). After a long time when she finally settled on where to put her lunch box lid which had some sauce on it and she was trying to find a place to put it where it wouldn't get other stuff dirty, she took like one bite and then didn't eat anymore and I'm like "seriously o_o".
And then she pulled out some other snack and took a long time getting it out because she had so much around her and still one hand free. She took one bite then stopped again o.O Then she pulled out what looked like a pocket bible and started reading with great difficulty, trying to balance all the stuff already in her lap. Okay maybe these two paragraphs were weird but at the time I was just thinking "goodness woman, how many things do you want to do at once?" Σ(゚д゚lll)
Goodness chem, why do you write it as E = hv. I always waste five minutes trying to understand the question because we learnt it as E = hf in physics and in what world is freq represented by a v? Tell me!
