スイートルームで悪戯なキス(kbtbb)
written on Monday, February 17, 2014 @ 11:08 PM ✈

Okay time to write about a new game! I'll try to keep it short so please read it? (⌒-⌒; )

Anyway once again I shall talk about how I wished I was fluent in Japanese then I'd be able to play these games much faster and it would be interesting to see how the characters sound "originally." You can always tell if I'm really excited or anticipate a game if I download it in Japanese just to play the free prologue (and I can only understand about 70% at my level OTL). I don't usually buy any routes as I just wait for the english to come out so I can understand (ಥ_ಥ)
In any case yes I downloaded this in Japanese and I played a bit because I was kind of excited for this one! I have to say I'm liking how they are rolling out some games with slightly darker themes (like KOR which I never talked about). So this game is called スイートルームで悪戯なキス (suito ru-mu de itazurana kisu) which translates literally to "mischievous kiss in the suite room" but the name given to the English game is "Kissed by the Baddest Bidder" which er, sounds quite lame. Who on earth gives the English games the name seriously o_o Also this game came out last year October 9th in Japanese but only came out last week exactly (February 10) in English so another reason why I wish I could play in Japanese T_T

Also they must have a thing for naming games with "kiss" (キス kisu) in the title cause there was My Forged Wedding which was 誓いのキス (chikai no kisu - kiss of vows), this game and also Kiss of Revenge or KOR 復讐のキス (fukushuu no kisu). Anyway for those that don't wish to continue reading (thanks for getting this far?) here's the clip of the game though bad quality because blogger just doesn't like uploading videos for some reason sorry. Also I apologise for the video appearing twice, it's only there once when I type the post so I can't fix it, please ignore:

Soooooo I'll try to be quick and basically the game starts with MC (I'll just say "you" from now on) who works at Hotel Très Spades which is Japan's first hotel and casino and if that wasn't interesting enough I really love the art for it:

Day view and night view. Damn I'd love to work for a place like that! Anyway they've really put more effort into this game I think as they've drawn in more characters (usually minor characters don't get a sprite), the workers have lovely uniforms (sorry forgot to take screenshot), and they draw in props like the masks and phones. I find it interesting that the hotel workers like MC actually live in a dorm within the hotel. MC's room:

Game starts off with this scary scene:

Oh my god everyone is so creepy D; But okay basically the prologue is you work as a maid (cleaning and tidying rooms, checking in guests, etc) at Hotel Très Spades which is owned by Ichinomiya Group and today they are holding a special event called the IVC (forgot what it stood for but I'm guessing International VIP Conference or something) where lots of celebrities and rich people and stuff are gathering at the hotel.

And then while you are in the lobby welcoming the guests you get bumped around and get pushed into this guy who couldn't care less and leaves you on the group LOL. And for the first time in the history of voltage (otome game maker) they now draw characters' backs LOL:

Btw I was playing this at midnight in bed as I always do and I was just trying so hard not to freaking laugh. Okay yeah then you basically meet the other important characters in and around the IVC (ceebs going into detail, it's not too important). But the MAIN point of the game is that MC accidentally breaks a super expensive statue of Venus and then when these mysterious bad men find out, MC is put up for auction. Yep, that's right. And that's why we started with this scene:

And just as you are about to be sold off for 5 million to this super sleazy guy you met earlier, an unknown bidder puts up 20 million for you. You are then taken away in your cage to your buyer who turns out to be the group of guys who are the main characters for this story (you meet them all in the prologue prior to breaking the statue):

誰に買われる?dare ni kawareru? Who do you want to be bought by?

And since together they bought you for 20 million, they give you the choice of who you want to be bought by and thus, the story of your chosen character's route starts. So why did I look forward to this game? I guess because the "sold at auction" concept was interesting as that's completely immoral in real life so I wanted to see what would happen to MC. Btw the IVC party where the rich and famous are invited to the hotel is just a cover up for the auction which is secretly held underground where literally anything can be sold. The motto is "if there is a buyer, it will be sold." Things like political secrets, donors (people giving up organs!!), stolen/rare artworks can be sold there however a human being sold is a first (MC). All people attending the auction wear a mask though for obvious reasons and when they come out, they take them off so you don't know who was at the IVC (the actual party) and who went to the auction.

Oh and remember how I once complained that sometimes I don't like the MC's of some games as they seem weak and if it was me I'd probably say a lot more? Well MC is actually quite gutsy in this one as she still manages to say some things back to these people who bought her whereas if you were in this situation, I'm pretty sure you wouldn't say or do much other than obey them because this situation is actually pretty scary (if you don't find being sold at auction and being bought by strangers who are completely dangerous scary than you're weird).

Anyway character introductions next time! If anyone wants to play this game, I'll give you my transfer code so you can play for free~ Hope you enjoyed my not-so-brief summary-ish D;

いいか、お前は俺が買った。お前をどうしょうが、俺の自由だ 。
It's fine, I bought you. What you do, is something I get to decide.

Even the auctioneer who hardly appears gets a sprite! Cool outfit btw.

Oh my god am I??? Does playing this kind of gamemake me a masochist??? Σ(゚д゚lll)

Nice mask you got there. Btw it totally hides your identity and I totally don't know who you are just like how no one knew who Usagi was in Sailor Moon even though the hairstyle made it obvious she WAS Sailor Moon?
