HELL YEAH I PASSED
written on Thursday, February 13, 2014 @ 10:17 PM ✈

So for some random reason I decided to go on the JLPT website late yesterday night (around 11:50) because something inside me was telling me that there was something to see (weird I know). And lo and behold, turns out the results were already out == I already knew that certificates for those who passed only get sent out in March but they sent out emails saying results could be obtained online from late February onwards.

And yet turns out the results are available online from January 30 to March sometime. And I was like EXCUSE ME?!?!?! It means I could have found out my results before going away for farm but noooo no one told me >:(

Well anyway better late than never. Checked it yesterday and all I saw was all the 30's out of 60 and me panicking about whether I passed or not until I saw 118/180 and I was desperately trying to remember what the pass mark is until I saw the best words you could ever see - PASSED.

HELL YES. Words can not describe how happy and relieved I was. Admittedly I didn't study as much as I wanted to throughout the year due to uni but I'm glad I still managed to pass and didn't disappoint my teacher or my parents. Only sad thing is that now my journey with Japanese ends here, and I bet my knowledge in it will deteriorate like crazy :(

Though dad was like why not just do the next level up? And I just laughed like crazy because that's not doable. N2 is pretty much native speaker level and people who have lived in Japan for a few years still have trouble passing so if I attempted it, it would probably take me a few years of studying OTL

Anyway, to all those that wished me a "congrats", thank you so much it honestly made me really happy. Oh btw I couldn't get to sleep last night because I was too happy after getting my results. And since it was midnight already I couldn't even tell my parents since they were asleep so I left a piece of paper on my mum's bag saying "I PASSED MY JAPANESE TEST, TELL DAD TOO" hoping she'd see it in the morning lol. Do you guys ever write notes and leave it somewhere, hoping a person will see it? I seem to do it a lot.

Oh also I told my teacher that it was thanks to her that I could pass but she said:

"Tracyは本当に努力家(どりょくか=がんばりや)ですね。

私はほんの少しだけおてつだいしただけですよ。

トレイシーががんばったから合格したんですよ!!"

which translates to something like "you're a hardworker and all I did was help you a little. It was because you worked hard that you were able to pass!!" Sounds infinitely better in Japanese btw. But ugh when she says stuff like that I can't help but be like  。゚( ゚இ﹏இ゚)゚。

Also I played so many routes today, the main story, epilogue and sequel. I still have so much to play and so excited adfjkadsfljsadklfs. Also Valentine's Day tomorrow which is awesome because I shall "celebrate" by playing the valentine's day sub stories that came out for the games kekeke.

For anyone that's interested, here's my JLPT results (click to see bigger):

95/180 is the pass mark and don't be like "only 38/60??" because please remember that these aren't marks, but some retarded scale was used for it where the more people who got a question right, the less it was worth and vice versa OTL

Also I think you had to get 20/60 at least in each section or it was an automatic fail so yeah. Super surprised I did almost exactly evenly in all the sections?? I thought listening was going to be my strongest point based on my performance in practice papers but I know I completely died in the actual test if you recall my recount.

Anyway thanks JLPT for teaching me so much~
